Curses are a form of powerful magic usually intended to harm the target it is cast at. All curses are currently found in the Codex Infernalis, found in nether fortresses or by trading with Alchemists. All curses last seven in game days.

Performing Curses

To perform curses, you must have at least 2,000 to 2,500 altar power and you must also have a brazier. To cast a curse, you must put all the correct ingredients listed, and a Taglock Kit filled with the blood of your target inside the Brazier with right-click. After you have filled the Brazier, light it with a Flint and Steel. If you have successfully cast the curse, white smoke should appear above the Brazier showing that it is working. This smoke stays until either the curse ends or until you break the Brazier.

Curses

Curse of Conflagration

  • The target of this curse will have their resistance to fire lowered.
  • To cast this curse, you need Fiery Unguent, Hellebore, Bottled Hellfire, and Charcoal.

Curse of Darkness

  • The target of this curse will on occasion lose all sight and become blinded.
  • To cast this curse, you need Oil of Vitriol, an Oak Apple Gall, Iron Gall Ink, Belladonna, and Aconitum.

Curse of Hydrophobia

  • The target of this curse will move much slower in water, sink faster, and hostile aquatic mobs do more damage.
  • To cast this curse, you need Oil of Vitriol, two Coquina, Stone, an Ink Sac, and a Prismarine Shard.

Curse of Lightning Rod

  • The target of this curse will become highly conductive and more likely to get struck by lightning
  • To cast this curse, you need an Iron Nugget, a Gold Nugget, Redstone, and Oil of Vitriol.

Curse of Misfortune

  • The target of this curse will occasionally gain a random debuff besides wither and poison.
  • To cast this curse, you need Oil of Vitriol, two Elderberries, Belladonna, Snake Venom, and a Raven's Feather.

Curse of Overheating

  • The target of this curse will become much less tolerant to heat and occasionally catch fire in hot biomes and take much more damage from fire and lava.
  • To cast this curse, you need Oil of Vitriol, Fiery Unguent, Tallow, and two Bones.

Curse of Palor Pestilence

  • The target of this curse will gain a disease which will kill them until they keel over or get it cleansed.
  • To cast this curse, you need Aconitum, Hellebore, Snake Venom, and Belladonna

Curse of Paranoia

  • The target of this curse will get blinded and hear random calls of monsters.
  • To cast this curse, you need an Eye of Ender, Blaze Powder, Dragons Blood Resin, Snake Venom, a Ghast Tear, Ectoplasm, and Demonic Elixer.

Return to Sender

  • The only positive curse, when anyone tries to curse the target, the curse will be reflected and cast on the one who cast it.
  • To cast this curse, you need White Sage, Salt, a Silver Nugget, and an Iron Nugget.

Curse of Solar Hatred

  • The target of this curse will become susceptible to damage from the sun, and will catch fire when in sunlight similar to the undead.
  • To cast this curse, you need Snake Venom, a Gold Nugget, Fiery Unguent, Salt, and Rotten Flesh.
